It didn’t take long, well that’s totally untrue, it took incredibly long to get there, but once there Emrys was in the thick of it with some prized miniature horses. Our third stop of the trip was to a Harvest Host about an hour north of 94 in North Dakota, the Lightning Arrow Ranch in Underwood. The above picture is Emrys talking to the 2-month-old miniature horse (now I have forgotten his and his mother’s name…I should have written it down right away).

Here is Joey. Justifiably one of the kids top 2 miniature horses they’ve ever met, with one of several others from the farm in the running as well.
Getting there took a little while longer than expected because the route we took led us through about 12 miles of washboarded gravel roads. Though they were straight and we saw several pheasants, a few beehives, and some deer along the way, I was a little concerned that the camper would rattle to pieces.
After setting up at the ranch, we were introduced to the horses and the miniature horses by the owner and we were able to purchase some bison brats, fresh eggs, bison jerky, and THE BEST HONEY WE HAVE EVER HAD.

We will definitely be back again.
At this point, we still didn’t feel like we were on sabbatical yet, and we were still horrendously exhausted from the pack and lead-up of the trip.
